If the stimulus was successful, I'd hate to see failure!

One year ago, February 17, 2009, President Obama signed into law the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. If you will remember, this act was such an "emergency," it had to be rammed through Congress. (Also remember this stimulus package was such an "emergency" that the President didn't sign it for several days after it passed.) The President promised that this stimulus package would prevent unemployment from going above 8.2%, and that it would save millions of jobs. One year later unemployment is now at 9.7% (after peaking at over 10%), and this stimulus package has cost us even more, $862 billion (much of the extra went for unemployment benefits). The U.S. economy has lost about 6 million jobs since the act went into effect even though the Obama administration claims they have saved 2 million. If the stimulus package is a success, I would hate to see failure.
Grijalva's newsletter, claimed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has created 6,800 jobs statewide in Arizona. As one of my constituents said, "I would like to know where these jobs are!"
A vote for me is a vote for private sector jobs, not government!
